A week after the Hope Quito conference, we bade farewell to a dear sister-in-Christ who has served with us for the past year and 3 months, Karen Wong aka Jiexian.
Jiexian joined the Quito team in May 2011 and has been an amazing team-mate, sister, friend and fellow warrior of God. She helped to start up Reach club, maintain our Hope website, disciple the younger brothers and sisters in Christ, strengthen the prayer ministry, outreach to youths, add and improve our worship team, enjoyed agape fellowship with us at home and etc. We have truly enjoyed synergy as a team and we really appreciate her faithful and persevering spirit of service. Our friendship has grown deeper as we serve, live and have fun together. She has touched us and encouraged us much with her sweet nature, generosity, love and spiritual discipline. We have learnt from her courageous and sacrificial heart for God, her initiative to invest in others’ lives, her faith to take up different challenges, trust in God amidst difficulties and willingness to integrate to the culture and submit herself to Christ.
Dear Jiexian, your labor in the Lord is definitely not in vain. Many lives, including ours, have been touched by you here in Quito, Ecuador. 🙂 We pray for you that in your next stage of life, God will continue strengthening you and using you to shine joy and bring truth to many others! You are dearly missed, we love you! TQM.
