On Silent/Black Saturday, we went trekking with Reach English Club. Not silent nor black at all! 🙂 We went to a place called Molinuco, about 1 hour drive from the north of Quito where we live, and trekked to 2 waterfalls. One was rapid flowing and about 2 stories high. People could dive/jump off the cliff and into the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. The other was gigantic, called La Gran Cascada, it looked like a small part of the Niagara Falls! We crossed the bridge right in front of the waterfall and ended up thoroughly wet! Unfortunately, my camera experienced a fault that day and didn’t work. Pics below are from JX, except one! (Thankfully though, my camera resurrected on Easter morning! :D)
Quite a few of our friends from the club came with us. Gustavo drove us there, Diego was our guide and Patricia brought her 3 year old son along! Angie also invited her friend Emilia along. 🙂 We went home super tired and drenched but very satisfied. It was a great day of nature, work out and building friendship. 🙂 Kudos too, to Dario and Timothy who helped piggyback 3-yr old Rafael when he was tired and when we walked ‘treacherous’ paths, across muddy or stony terrain, climbing up and down steep, muddy, rocky slopes and over slippery and swinging bridges… 🙂 It was a great adventure!
