My Spanish teacher told me that she was teaching Spanish in the Bank of Pichincha last Thursday when 5 robbers came in with machine guns and started shooting. She hid in a corner and was very scared. According to her, she could tell that the robbers were Colombians from their Spanish accent. She hid in the corner for almost an hour before getting out. Thank God that she survived in the incident.
She is still suffering from the after-shock so do pray for her that God’s peace fills her heart. Also do pray for better security in Ecuador because there are many more immigrants from Columbia and Cuba coming into Ecuador recently, and it seems that the crime rate is going up. Do pray that God keeps our church members and us safe here in Quito.
