Ecuador vs Paraguay

PR and I are watching another World Cup Qualifier match in the stadium tomorrow. We bought the tickets for both Ecuador vs Brazil and Ecuador vs Paraguay matches because it is cheaper to buy tickets for both matches together. Paraguay is at the top of the table now and I guess it will be a difficult game for Ecuador. We hope that Ecuador will steal a win at home tomorrow.

PR and I watched the World Cup Qualifier in the stadium today. It was an exciting match and the crowd were screaming throughout the whole game. Ecuador team played very well and controlled the game. It was a pity that they could not score more goals. Brazil was off-form and kept losing their ball possession. You can read the match analysis here:

Another riddle

Another riddle

When I went to teach in Inlingua, I saw another advertisement to promote my Chinese classes. This is like a riddle to me again. I think the words are “LA MANERA MAS FACIL DE APRENDER MANDARIN”. They literally mean “the way more easy to learn Mandarin”. You can try reading the words again to see whether you can get it.

Lonely afternoon

Bevlyn Khoo

Lonely afternoon is the name of the album of my other ex-classmate, Bevlyn Khoo. I knew her by her Chinese name, Honglin in Hwa Chong but I think she changed her Chinese name and gave herself an English name after college. She tried to add me in facebook quite some time ago but I could not recognise her name and did not add her until recently. I used to think that she was rather boyish because she was from the NCC (National Cadet Corps). She was fun-loving in class and had a strong personality. It is beyond our imagination that she becomes a singer-songwriter now.

Recently she put some of her songs from her album, lonely afternoon, on her blog. The songs are really nice and I am pleasantly surprised by her beautiful voice. As I have mentioned briefly in an earlier entry, I managed to get connected with my ex-classmates from Hwa Chong and I realised that two of them had cut their own albums.

I remember Lorraine as someone who was very lively in class. She participated actively in college and was one of the lead actresses in the Chinese drama. I knew that she was musical but I did not know that she can sing so well until I listened to some of her songs online recently. I thought it was a brilliant idea that she drawed inspiration from couples and composed love songs.
